Project Director Employment Announcement

The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indiansis seeking a Project Director for its Everett Freeman Promise Neighborhoodprogram. Promise Neighborhood targets the communities of Corning and RanchoTehama, California. The vision of the Promise Neighborhood is that all childrenand youth growing up in the target areas will have access to great schools andstrong systems of family and community support that will prepare them to attainan excellent education and successfully transition to college and acareer.

A major focus of Promise Neighborhood isto support the development of great schools. Program resources are used toenhance the participating preschools and school districts core programs. Thisfocus includes ongoing teacher professional development programs and directservices to students. Direct services include both in-classroom supports andextended year-round programming. Community services supplement theseschool-based programs. Together, Promise Neighborhood provides a seamlesscontinuum of solutions addressing the needs of the target area youth andfamilies.

Sample Job Duties:

  1. Oversee the implementation of the PromiseNeighborhood program in accordance with U.S. Department of Education guidelines

  2. Prepare and monitor program budgets andcontracts

  3. Institutea continuum of cradle-to-career solutions of both educational programs andfamily and community supports

  4. Manage project staff and contractors

  5. Develop and implement program implementationand data plans

  6. Coordinate with the program evaluation team tocollect, analyze, and report data related to specific outcomes and to implementcontinuous improvement processes

  7. Workwith program stakeholders to identify and increase the capacity of partnerorganizations

  8. Integrateprograms so that solutions are implemented effectively and efficiently acrossagencies

  9. Partner with the Tehama CountyDepartment of Education, Corning Union Elementary School District, CorningUnion High School District, and Head Start to improve educational outcomes forstudents

  10. Work effectivelywith the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians Tribal Council and the PromiseNeighborhood Governing Board

  11. Develop a localinfrastructure of systems and resources needed to sustain and scale up proven,effective solutions within Tehama County

Qualifications:

  1. A masters or doctorate degree in education ora related field

  2. A minimum of five years of experience workingin community development and school reform programs

  3. Strong communication skills (writing andspeaking) in English (required) and Spanish (preferred)

  4. Capacity to effectively work with localagencies including schools, local units of government, non-profitorganizations, faith-based institutions, and other grassroot organizations

  5. Ability to analyze problems, identifyalternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implementrecommendations in support of goals of the project

  6. Model servant leadership

  7. Exercise judgment regarding appropriateinformation sharing, confidentiality requirement, and human relations

  8. Ability to use technology includingspreadsheets and databases

Salary:$115,000 to $125,000 (based on experience) plus benefits
